Foreword
Dakota Lynn Grey, or ‘Kody’ as she liked to be called, grew up in London England as normally as any kid with two moms and an eccentric uncle could. But don’t get her wrong, she loved her family more than anything and would gladly do everything in her power to make sure they were happy.
Growing up, she didn’t really have any friends due to her lack of enthusiasm for the things they always wanted to do whereas she would read books and draw as opposed to playing at recess or giggling with her girlfriends about the latest teenage heartthrob.
She was considered weird by them, even if she didn’t dress like a Goth kid obsessed with vampires and black lipstick, they still treated her like she was the plague and gave her a wide berth in school.
But it was okay to her, she didn’t feel comfortable talking to strangers and she rather hated being in groups of people, so she never felt like an outcast and just enjoyed spending her time by herself or with her family.
All was fine in her opinion with her life, that is, until she hit eleven and puberty struck her along with an unexpected gift she never saw coming.
She didn’t notice anything strange besides everything her Mom and Monica (Her step-mom) told her would occur with her period, but when she went to go to bed, she heard a strange voice and she couldn’t quite place where it was.
Kody searched everywhere in her room in hopes of finding it, but all she came up with was even more irritation at not finding the source of the voice and eventually she gave up and tried to go back to sleep, thinking it might just be the fatigue getting to her.
“…Three thousand and twenty seven bottles of beer on the wall, three thousand and twenty seven beers~” The voice sang and she bolted upright in bed, losing her mind with trying to search for an intruder in her room.
I should go get Mom or Monica. She thought to herself and crossed the room to her door, turning the handle and nearly rage quitting when the door creaked.
“What the hell was that?” The voice question and she sucked in a sharp breath, hoping that she could make it out into the hall and towards her parents’ bedroom before it heard her again.
But alas her clumsiness and lack of light made her catch her foot under the Italian rug her mother had bought just two days prior and she came tumbling down right on her face.
If there ever was a time to want to be dead, now would be it.
“Wait a minute, who are you?” The voice asked and only now did she realize it sounded like a female with an accent much like her own only slightly huskier and she scurried up the wall and inched closer to her parents’ room.
Please don’t let them be a psychotic serial killer.
“I’m not a serial killer, now. Who are you?”
She blinked in the darkness and just noticed that there wasn’t any noise coming from downstairs or anywhere in her house for that matter, the voice seemed to only be…no, it couldn’t be.
“What? That I’m in your head?”
Oh my god, I’ve gone insane and I haven’t even hit my teens yet.
“Well, if you are insane then I am too, because I’m hearing your voice in my head too”
I don’t understand…how can I hear you?
“Beats me, I’ve been singing to myself for forever and then your voice suddenly popped up and here we are, talking to the voices”
Letting go of the wall and fumbling back to her bedroom, she flipped her nightstands lamp on and laid down on her bed.
What’s your name?
“Evangeline, I think”
What do you mean ‘You think’?
“I’ve been alone for so long, I don’t even remember anything about myself”
Not even your family or friends?
“Nope, not a thing”

BrokenAbyssChain on says about chapter 2:
I can't express how much this cracks me up. I remembered the general idea of the story but I actually forgot the scenes and I just love it. The immense amount of snark between us is unreal (geddit?)
But really _____, you left here there? THERE?!
I need to know what happens goddamn it!
BrokenAbyssChain on says about chapter 1:
I can't.
The remix of Call Me Maybe.
"That poor girl" to "STAHP IT" had me in hysterics. I had to re-read it.
Then "Heh, got wood" made me snort my coffee. I thought the humor was over and tried to drink again and then you put in the _____o reference -_-" And I would would be projecting images of him naked. All day. while singing '_____ Yeah' by Marina and the Diamonds. I'll prob be posting mine soon.
