“Dude, I really missed having days like this” Stiles announced happily, enjoying the fact that he and his best friend, Scott, were hanging out by themselves at the mall for the first time in what seemed like forever.
“Yeah, I’m sorry I kept spending all my free time with Allison when I could’ve at least spent some of it with you” Stiles clapped Scott’s shoulder and they picked up their ice cream orders from the Dairy Queen in the Beacon Hills mall, looking around for a place to sit.
“So what’s up with your Mom? How’s she taking the whole ‘My son’s a werewolf’ thing?”
“She’s…She’s actually pretty cool with it, but she did say that if I start peeing on the furniture she’s going to ground me” They both chuckled at that mental image, of course, Stiles pretty much cackled, actually.
Their conversation took more of a playful turn, then. Stiles harassing Scott with all the dog-like puns he could come up with while Scott took them all light-heartedly and both boys were laughing.
But as Stiles joked about Fire hydrants and he dug into the last of his Reese’s Blizzard, Scott’s whole demeanor changed and his spine went rigid.
He smelled something he really didn’t even think about coming to Beacon Hills, He smelt something he had only experienced twice with Peter and then with Derek; he smelt…An Alpha.
Ice cream long forgotten, Scott stood up in a hurry and ran his gaze over everyone he could see, trying to find anyone who would even remotely look like an Alpha, even if he knew they wouldn’t look like one.
“What the hell just happened, Scott? You shot up faster than a light saber” Stiles questioned from beside him, both boys now standing and looking around the over-populated shopping center.
“Alpha, I…I smell an Alpha”
“Do you think maybe its Derek coming to get more of his too-tight Fabio shirts from the Gap?”
Ignoring the obvious sarcasm he received from Stiles, Scott caught the scent again and immediately headed off after it, leaving a sputtering Stiles to follow or seem like an ass.
“You could’ve just barked at me like Lassie, at least that way I’d know Timmy was stuck in the well” Stiles mocked as they marched through the shopping mall with Scott in the lead.
“Where did it go?”
Stiles patted down his pockets and spun around as if looking for something he’d lost and came up with a mockingly unapologetic shrug. “Oh, I must’ve left my Spidey senses at home. Sorry”
Blocking out the never-ending wit coming from his best friend, Scott closed his eyes and sifted through the hundreds of scents in the air until he caught it again and ushered Stiles straight towards the ladies room.
“Dude, this is the girls room, if you had to go you could’ve just gone to the guys’ next door”
Shaking his head, Scott inspected further into the restroom, checking each stall for an occupant and eventually coming up empty, Sighing.
“I could’ve sworn I smel-“The lights turned off and the door slammed shut, the faint clicking sound of the doors lock following afterwards.
“I swear, if this is just a sick joke I’ll never ever call you Lassie again” Stiles swore as he latched himself onto Scott’s arm.
The lights suddenly flicked back on and temporarily blinded both boys with its suddenness, Scott’s eyes being more sensitive he didn’t recover nearly as soon as Stiles did.
“Holy mother of god”
A tall blonde girl stood with her back leaning against the door, the long ash blonde locks were straight and went all the way down to her hips, her green eyes a bright, almost inhumanly possible lime color that paired with her height, buxom chest, and striking features, was…Well…Striking.
“I didn’t expect to see another here, but I guess the small town factor must be a huge draw-in for our kind” the husky, almost foreign sounding tone the girl spoke in brought Scott’s attention to her when his eyes cleared up.
“You’re an Alpha”
“And you’re not very observant” A new voice with a heavy southern drawl pointed out from behind them, causing both boys to spin around in alarm to stare at the even taller redhead.
Wavy red hair going all the way down to her hips that looked to be longer than the Blonde’s, the redhead was taller than the blonde by a few inches, coupled with the height of her four inch heels that made her tower over the boys easily.
“So, why would one of ours be walking around with a human?” The blonde asked.
“Oh but he’s cute though, the Human that is. The other’s jaw is uneven and it ruins his appeal” The same drawl came from the redhead as she circled the boys until she was right beside the blonde.
“As much as I appreciate the compliment-and I do, really-but he’s my best friend and we were just hanging out, not doing anything risky” Stiles Explained.
“Ah, so following us isn’t considered risky. I see” The blonde unleashed her claws and her eyes flashed to red, a small warning growl emanating from her while the redhead yawned and leaned against the door her alpha had just freed, stuffing her hands into her white leather jackets pockets.
“You know, I think I worded that wrong. Scott, how about you interject” he grabbed his friends’ arm and yanked him forwards, putting his poor, frail human body behind the tough, durable werewolf.
“I was curious, I’ve never met another Alpha before and I wanted to see why you smelt so differently” With that, her claws retracted and her eyes went back to the eerie green they were before, a smirk playing on her lips.
“How cute, he’s still a baby” the redhead jested.
“Clearly, what’s the Alpha’s name, maybe I know them”
“Derek, Derek Hale”
She held her chin as if thinking rather hard and then looked back at the redhead who simply shrugged. “Nope, never met him”
“He’s not really the sociable type, it doesn’t surprise me” Stiles quipped, receiving a glare from Scott trying to tell him to shut up.
Crossing her arms, the blonde stepped closer to Scott until she was practically within kissing distance of him and tilted her head to the side, her eye’s closing as she seemed to be scenting him.
“What’s your name, cutie?” The redhead asked with her gaze planted straight on Stiles.
“As much as I enjoy the pet names, I’m Stiles”
“Oh, that’s unique. I like it”
“You like anything with a pulse” the blonde spoke with her eyes now open but without turning towards her obvious pack mate.
“That’s not true”
“Oh really, name one person”
“That one guy we met in Vegas, Joseph something”
“Doesn’t count”
“Why not?” She pouted at the elder who’d by then turned around to look at her with a quirked eyebrow.
“He wore corduroys and velvet”
While the two girls were having their little spat, Stiles looked at Scott as if he could possibly save them both from the strange encounter that rivaled that of his first meeting Derek.
“Back on topic, we have to go now. But don’t come after us again unless you want me to make that jaw of yours even” with that, the blonde strutted over to the door which the redhead had happily opened and was holding open.
“See you around, Stiles” The redhead winked at them and the next thing they knew, they were alone in the ladies room with the door slamming shut.
The silence then almost made Stiles explode in frustration until thankfully his friend ended his misery.
“Was that weird or-“Yup, totally” he interrupted him.
“Okay then. Movies?”
“Yup, sounds good”

The next day.
Police sirens were the first thing that woke up the buxom blonde from her alcohol induced slumber, the second was the head splitting pain of said sirens on her sensitive ears so early in the morning, and the third was the banging on the hotel rooms door.
Rolling over onto her stomach, she checked the clock to see if it was worth even getting up for so early, and noticed that it was seven in the morning.
Who the fuck wakes up this early?
The pounding on the door continued and she groaned, pushing herself into a sitting position and then somehow managing to stand up in her black wife beater and panties, and strolled over to the door with a yawn as she opened it.
“Evangeline Cross?”
“Who’s asking?” she was too busy scratching her head to move her hair out of her eyes and look up.
“Sherriff Stilinski, Beacon Hills PD”
She looked up and they locked gazes for a moment before she sighed.
“Alright, lemme get some pants”

Stiles ran as fast as he could through the library without drawing too much attention to himself as he blew past the librarians desk and straight to the table his best friend was currently sat at, writing up his English homework during their free period so that he didn’t get a failing grade.
“Derek just popped up and scared the hell out of me, he says if you don’t get your ass to the parking lot right now he’s going to rip my spleen out through my nose and I rather like my spleen where it is, thank you” Stiles whispered out in one breath, gasping for air as quietly as he could when he finished.
“But I have to finish this test, I can’t fall behind again or else coach’ll kill me” Scott gestured to the various books he had open and strewn over the tabletop.
“I’m more worried about my spleen than your homework, but if it means so much to you, you can copy mine afterwards”
“Did Derek tell you what he wanted?”
“Oh, I must’ve forgotten to ask that in between the complete and utter terror that my spleen would be removed rather unpleasantly, my bad”
“Shh!” The Librarian hissed out at them and Scott apologized, picking up his bag and stuffing his things back into it.
“Dude, if I mess up this test I’m so telling your Dad about the late-night sneaking out you did to see Lydia”
“Yeah, this is all if I still have enough time to care over my missing spleen”
~~~
“The police found another body at a hotel this morning” was the first thing out of Derek Hale’s mouth as soon as they approached him.
“And this is my problem why?”
“It’s throat was slit, it’s head was bashed in, and the police say he was strangled”
“You think I did it?” Scott asked, much to Derek’s irritation.
“No, dumbass, I think one of our kind did”
“Wait, did you tell him about yesterday?” Stiles asked Scott.
“No, I forgot to, I had homework”
Throwing his hands up in exasperation, Stiles turned to Derek and started his explanation of their previous day.
Pointing at Scott, Derek gestured wildly in clear frustration. “So you mean to tell me that you met an Alpha with a pack member and you just forgot to tell me this?”
“I told him to tell you, he said he would and I left it alone”
Scott turned to him looking as if he’d just betrayed him. “Dude, really?”
“What, I did”
“When you two are done chatting, tell me what they looked like”
“One was blonde with freaky green eyes and the other was a redhead with slightly less freaky eyes, but more revealing clothes” Stiles described, hand gestures emphasizing his explanations.
“Could you recognize them by smell?”
“Yeah, I guess”
“Good, you and Stiles are going to the crime scene and going to see if you can find any sign of them”
“Can it wait until after English? My attendance just got better and-“Not now, idiot. After school”
“Oh, right”
BrokenAbyssChain on says about chapter 3:
I was thinking this chap and my new one were going to be very different. That's how it started, then there was the whole food, running, shower thing going on.
I got confused for a moment when you switched scenes and started to talking to someone, but then I was like, "Ahhhh~" I remember now.
BrokenAbyssChain on says about chapter 1:
That was like reading 3 of your chapters.
I am proud of you \(^_^)/
I really liked the description even though it makes me feel bad because I can't think of mine (T_T)
I'm excited to see what happens next \*0*/
