The Secret They Shared

She liked her. She had liked her since the day she had entered in her life. 

"Cinderella, I want all of the works to be done by afternoon, okay," her stepsister, Drizella said to her as she left Cinderella in her own little room.

Sighing for the millionth time, Cinderella stood up from her place and started doing her work. Honestly, she never did understand herself. Even after this much of torture, she chose to stay, to be by her sister's side.  Why was she doing all this? For what reason?

Simple, love. Not that of a sister, but of a lover.

Cinderella still remembers the day she first met Drizella. The sun shone on her face, highlighting her milky white skin and oh that smile, it had swept Cinderella off her feet. The day she met Drizella was the happiest day for her. But, poor her, her step mother didn't treat her well. And Drizella had to follow her mother's step.

At first, these two girls were friends, not exactly friends but at least, they were good to each other until one day Drizella spilled water on her while she was talking with the neighbors' kid. That's the point since Drizella started being distant, started being cruel.

Cinderella never understood why, and also the fact why Drizella kept the medicine beside her table every night. Drizella confused her, yes, but that didn't mean Cinderella stopped loving her.

Confusion, that confusion kept her from hating her step sister. 

"Clumsy girl," Drizella said as she stared at Cinderella's sleeping figure. She had always been fond of Cinderella. She, in fact, liked her step sister. But, couldn't just voice it out. And, her mother always told her that it was wrong. Wrong for her to love her sister.

Following her mother's words, and thinking it would hurt her sister she decided to make Cinderella hate her. So that she wouldn't get close and get hurt.

Childish, you could say but Drizella really loved her sister. And that is why she was mean to her.

She chuckled as placed the medicine beside the table as usual. And unlike the usual, Cinderella was asleep today. 

But before she could leave, a hand grabbed her. 

"M-Mother," a sleeping plus mumbling Cinderella, how cute was that. 

A flash of worry spread across her face which was replaced with a smile when she saw the little girl beside her relax. 

Her eyes just roamed around her face while her hand softly caressed the younger's cheeks. Cinderella was beautiful, no doubt. But it was Cinderella's inner beauty that attracted her. The way Cinderella smiled at everything around her, and lots of thing about her. 

Slowly, in between those thoughts, her hand slowly clashed with Cinderella's lips. Those pink plump lips. Drizella's face slowly made it towards Cinderella's, but before their lips could touch, she pulled away.

No, she couldn't do this. It's wrong, her mother always said that to her.  And it will certainly hurt her sister. So, slowly caressing her sister's cheeks she said, "I love you but, my love will hurt you..."

And with those word, she left her sister's room. A tear rolled down from Cinderella's cheek as the emptiness surrounded her.
