"France is a good place for the video." her manager spoke, but Dora grimaced.
"You keep pushing France for every video." she sighed.
"It is the city of love." he shrugged.
"It's a song about believing in your dreams..." Dora reminded him.
"What better way than showing you're in the city of love."
"Sam, you're an idiot." Dora laughed and her manager laughed along.
Dora was Skyping with her manager, Sam. Sam was 27, and was still much of a tease. He was tall, with black hair that looked stylishly-messy but was in fact this way because Sam was too lazy to make some "cool" hairstyle. His dark brown eyes would always have a mischievous look in them. He was Dora's best friend and a biggest support in the hardest time when she didn't have her family close. Dora never told him how much he meant to her, but she knew he already knows this.
"Are you enjoying your rest?" he asked her with a smile.
"Well, I would rather if I didn't get followed wherever I go, but it's okay." she sighed but then smiled back.
"You're lucky I'm not there, otherwise everyone would be around us. Because of me of course." Sam winked, and Dora started laughing.
"Do you have any plans for later?" Sam then asked, while he grabbed some papers from a pile on the desk behind him.
"I'm going to meet with some childhood friends. You have paperwork, huh?" she looked at him sincerely.
"It's gonna take 5 minutes, don't worry." Sam flashed a reassuring smile, but Dora knew him too well.
"Take a rest now and then, don't overwork." she told him, and he nodded.
"I'll take care of this pretty face." he said and showed at himself.
Dora again laughed and shook her head. He would always care about others more than himself. Because of this, Dora had to look after him so he doesn't damage his health. So in the end, he looked after her and she looked after him.
She put her hands on the desk and then put her head onto them. She watched Sam work. He leaned onto the papers, his hair falling around his face. He was scribbling something on the papers, and would stop sometimes to read. After about 10 minutes he looked up, and when he saw Dora he smiled widely.
"You don't have to watch me work." he said, putting the papers away.
"I don't have anything important to do. Besides, you would be bored without me." she smirked at him and he chuckled.
"True that. Alright then, tell me what you did today." he said.
As she was talking he continued to work, but a smile or a chuckle indicated he was still listening. She finished her story in time to go and get ready.
"I'll talk to you later. Remember to rest." she told him, and with his cheerful waving, they hung up.
***
"Sorry for being late." Dora said when she came closer to the two of her friends.
"Dora!" a brunette stood up gave Dora a bear hug. "It's been so long." she said when she let Dora breathe again.
The brunette was called Patricia. She was approximately 165 cm tall, not growing too much since childhood. She had a long wavy brown hair that fell over her shoulders and her back. Her dark brown eyes were filled with joy of seeing her friend.
Then after Patricia moved aside, Lucija came and again hugged Dora tightly. After that the three friends sat down and started chatting. There was a lot to talk about. They haven't seen each other in lots of years, and even though Dora and them did Skype and text each other (at first more often, now more rarely) that couldn't make up foe the distance. Lucija and Patricia luckily stayed close, even though the second one moved to the town center, so they could all meet up together.
"Oh wow, it's already 11 p.m." Patricia said when she noticed the time.
"I have to get up early again." Lucija sighed. "Darn the morning the school."
"I have to get up at 5. They better give me something to work on tomorrow." Patricia sighed.
"What do you want? An operation?" Lucija asked.
"Yeah. But I would probably kill someone so I'm kind of glad I'm stuck with the room patients for now." Patricia said and they all laughed.
"When are you going back?" Lucija directed the question to Dora.
"Probably by the end of this week. It's almost tour time." Dora sighed.
"We'll be your number one fans!" Patricia grinned and they all laughed.
Soon enough they headed home, and Dora had to sneak into her apartment quietly, because everyone was already asleep. She entered her room and closed the doors, turning her laptop on and putting it on the bed, before throwing herself next to it. She logged to Skype, and decided to check up on Sam.
"What kind of party was that?" he asked as soon as he accepted the call.
"Hi to you too. Not a party, just a coffee chit-chat. They have to work tomorrow." she told him while taking her jacket off.
"Are you still working?" she then asked.
"Yeah. But you should sleep, it's almost midnight or something for you." he said, checking the the time.
"It's okay, I'm not tired." she shrugged.
She lied down on her stomach, putting a pillow to rest her head on, and continued to watch Sam work. They said nothing in the next half an hour, as Sam was deep in his work, and Dora was tired even if she didn't want to confess that. Sam would look up every now and then and smiled to her, and he could see that little by little her smiles became more sleepy. When he looked up again he saw Dora was asleep and he smiled at her softly.
She would always fall asleep next to him when he was working, so this was no exception.
