Name: Chihiro Ogino
Age: 20 years old
Occupation: Student.
Chihiro signs the papers that was given by the real estate agent. "Thank you, miss." Both bowed slightly to each other. Chihiro gave a slight smile and begin,"Mr Yagashi, I would like to have some time alone here. I will contact you once I have decided the date to move in. Thank you so much," The agent nodded briefly, before turning his back to leave.
She is back. She looked out of the windows, the scenery is still the same. The apartment overlooked the lush green forest which her family nearly got lost in. "I am back," she whispered, to the forest. Oh, how she loved this place. When her parents decided to move away, she never once forgot the feeling of staying in this small little town. Something happened here. Something which she cannot remember or speak of. It ties her to this place. She felt particularly bonded to this area, ever since she moved here. Her life underwent a 180 degrees turnabout. Her personality, behaviour etc. Everything changed. She changed from a whiny, rude and clumsy girl to a quiet, mature and cautious girl. Even her own parents do not know what exactly changed her. Before that, the 10-year-old Chihiro was a whiny girl, complaining about moving to a new town. Now, she is quietly adjusting to this place. She even further surprised her parents by doing her own laundry which she never knew how.
Ever since they moved here, Chihiro's parents would find their 10-year-old daughter, gazing at the forest with much concentration and seriousness. When they got concerned and talked to her about it, she would give a vague response. The truth is, she have no idea why she have a weird, compelling urge to go to the forest. It is almost like a mysterious strength is drawing her there. And there is something which she find it odd. She found herself having a shiny, hand-woven hairband when they left the forest. Who gave it to her? She do not remember having that hairband before they came here. She knew she forgot something or, no, someone important to her life. When she forced herself to think more, she would get a massive headache. She only remembered a feeling. The warm feeling she felt, holding onto something, like a horn of a creature. But, she wasn't sure about it though. It is just...just a feeling.
She would wander off to the forest alone, to look for clues. There was more than once she got lost in the forest, which requires her parents to search through the entire forest to find her. Sometimes, police would have to get involved too. Soon, her parent got annoyed at this whole ridiculous incident of Chihiro, getting lost in the forest. They are getting tired of having to apologize to the town's policemen, constantly.
Her father ,being someone really egoistic,he can no longer withstand this bizarre behaviour of his own daughter. Chihiro clearly remembered the last word he said before leaving or rather storming off the forest,"I don't have such a weird daughter like you!" Chihiro was broken, she don't understand why her father said that. All she knew was, it will probably take her sometime to speak to her father again. That was when Chihiro's parents moved house once again. In the hope that, Chihiro would return to her normal state. However, it never did happen. Chihiro tried to explain what had happened to her, but, she was always shut off by her parents. The relationship between Chihiro and her parents was strained because of that. They refused to believe the absurd tale about her contact with a mystical creature, and the mysterious hairband was given by someone from the Other World. That was when, she was often brought to the doctor for routine check-ups. Her story is being brushed off by the doctors as a child that suffer from disruptive behaviour disorder. She lost faith in both doctors and her parents. Why can't they trust her?
She always put up a great fight, refusing to go to the docs. Because, she knew. She knew and always believed in what she saw and feel was real. She couldn't understand why adults repeatedly tried to kill off her imagination. Maybe everytime you grow, your imagination dies off bit by bit.Chihiro and her parents was never the same again.
Chihiro moved out from her parents' house once she got the ability to. She rarely contacted them while staying in the college dorm. She never really forgave them. It was so hard for her, she fought hard to interact with others normally without being labelled as someone with a personality disorder. She knew deep down what really had happened, which others don't want to believe in. She doubt herself most of the time, questioning her sanity. So, to block of such thoughts she worked hard as a part-time waitress in a cafe and a tutor while studying. She wanted to buy that old house back, it was the place where she grew emotionally and physically attached to. Without it, it is like a fish taken out of its natural habitat. Everything is so precious there. Every roots, leaves, flowers in the town is important to her. With much scrimping and saving, she could comfortably manage the deposit of the house.
"Let's start afresh," she told herself.
