Demon Sibling

The students of Seirin High school turned to look at the female walking lazily down the main pathway while dangling a plastic bag over the back of her shoulder. White hair tied up in a high ponytail, the full figured girl towering over those around her strut towards the gym with a blank stare. Whispers broke out at the sight of the college girl on campus, but the talk of the minute didn’t bother to humour the stares.

Inside the gym, the basketball team had just sat down for their dinner break. Hyūga noticed the boy beside him and paused the unwrapping of his meal. “Eh, Kuroko, aren’t you eating lunch?” The younger boy shook his head solemnly. “Why?” The questioning stopped when there was a single knock on the open metal door at the far end of the gym. Instinctively, the basketball team glanced over only to notice a girl stood there in an overly casual way.

Also looking over to see what the fuss was about, Kuroko’s eyes widened. Jumping to his feet, the blue haired boy ran over to the intruder without a word.

“What’s that about?” Izuki asked the Captain who was still too interested in the conversation taking place on the other side of the gym.

"Hehh, she's as tall as you, Izuki." Riko noted as she tried to read the conversation.

“His girlfriend?” Koganei joked and the others turned to frown at him before setting off laughing.

“If you’re so interested, why don’t you just go and ask?” Unfazed by the happening, Kagami shoved a whole sandwich in his mouth. “But I doubt that guy could get a girl like her.” Food flew as he tried to eat and talk at the same time.

Dodging the propelled bits of Yakisoba bread, the second string tried to pay attention without being hit by the slop. “What makes you say that?”

Swallowing the dry bread stuck in his throat, Kagami looked over the group. “For one, she’s taller than him. Girls only go out with shorter guys if they’re rich, or have a lot to offer: He is neither. Secondly, she doesn’t come across the sweet type that dates quiet high schoolers.” Finishing off his uncharacteristic deduction - And leaving his group mates stunned - the redhead continued his eating spree.

Back over at the door, the female of the pair whacked the boy across the head and then handed over the plastic bag she'd been carrying. After some brief pointing and a fed up expression from the girl, and a full ninety degree bow from the Shadow, the female turned around and left.

Regardless of what Kagami had said during lunch, the team didn’t believe that the mystery girl wasn’t a romantic interest. And so, they decided to badger the poor - and apparently suspicious - Kuroko into telling them who he had been talking too. The only problem was that they were asking all sorts of questions but not giving him a chance to answer any of them before bombarding him with even more. In the end, he wasn't able to get a word in edge ways. “That’s not my girl fri-”

"Don't even say the word." Koganei held one hand up to stop the comment as the palm of his other hand covered his face. "How could you not tell us this, Kuroko?" The boy seemed to be drowning in despair.

“How long have you been going out?”

“We’re no-”

“Kissed yet?”

The boy almost gagged. “Definitely not.”

“Come on, Kuroko. You can tell us.”

“Ok. Listen carefully.” He called the guys in closer and they readily leaned in to hear the epic details of high school romance. “She’s my sister.” Leaving the words to set in through their thick skulls, Kuroko nonchalantly walked towards the lockers.

“Eh?!” A collective bellow caused the 'normal' students to spare a glance as they passed through the hall.

Holding a packet of chips between his teeth, Kagami shook his head as he collected his belongings from his own locker. “I told you it wasn’t what you thought.” Striding past his dejected and dismayed team mates, the Power Forward headed for the glass doors of the main exit.

“Look.” One of the female Seirin students pointed meekly towards the gates front gates.

“Wasn’t she here at lunch time?” The girl beside her whispered back.

Leaning against the slick brick wall surrounding the high school she had visited earlier, the white haired girl waited for her sibling as a brief shower tried to gain momentum.

Shrugging his belongings over his shoulder, Kuroko huffed into a job upon seeing his sister. “Aneue?”

Turning to the caller, the female pushed herself up off the brick. “What takes you so long?” She jabbed the shorter boy with the metal point of the umbrella she was holding before throwing it to him.

“Sorry.” Kuroko rubbed the sore spot on his stomach with one hand and caught the umbrella with the other. “Is Chichiue working again?” He didn’t really need to ask. Every time their father was going to be away on business, she would always make sure to meet him at school so they could go grocery shopping. It was a damn cert that he wouldn’t waste his precious time getting food in for his kids if he wasn’t there, so it had always been her that had to do it.

But this time was different. She was supposed to be staying in the hospital until Saturday.

"Coming here once is bad enough." An annoyed look on his face, the boy was visibly tense as he put the umbrella up and held it above his sibling's head. "You're supposed to be resting. Why are you walking about in the rain?"

"Don't make that face, Tsuya." She smacked him lightly with the back of her fingers. "It makes me think you're growing up."

Sour pout crinkling his forehead, the boy sighed. "I am growing up-"

“Yo.”

Kuroko and his sister looked to the caller. “What’s wrong?” The shorter of the siblings questioned.

The towering redhead rubbed the back of his head in dismay as he slouched. “Koganei and Fukuda are still crying back there, ya know?”

As he always did, Kuroko spoke lightly. “It’s their own fault for making assumptions.”

Snatching her brother's bag from his hand and slinging it over her shoulder, the female asked. “What are you going on about?”

Kagami inspected the girl with a strange look and then answered with embarassment, as if it was his fault. “They thought you two were together.”

"Pahaha!" An obnoxious chuckle escaped her. “It’s not the first time.” She brushed the comment off like it was nothing before bowing her head slightly. Although, the action came off as more rude than it should have been polite. “I’m Kuroko Kaminari.” Her tone was rough and her lack of gestures were a little short of ignorant.

Kagami stared at the girl, then Kuroko, and then back to the girl while wrinkling his nose. “Are you sure you two are related?”

“We have the same father.” Kaminari said.

The tall boy cocked his head a little. “You don’t smell alike.”

“Excuse me?” Wide eyed, slate irises locked on the stranger and a sure look of irritation flashed on her face.

Ruffling his hair that was becoming soaked with rain water, Kagami hissed as if in perplexed thought. “He has no scent and you have an odd one.” Red eyes stared back unfalteringly as he matter of facted.

The comment got Kaminari‘s back up. Widening her stance, she faced her opponent. “What the Hell are you, a dog? Don‘t go around saying things like that unless you want to end up getting arrested.”

"Aneue..." Tugging at the girl's hoodie sleeve, Kuroko instantly caught her attention. “We better get going before the store get busy.” Kuroko’s low drown cut the tension and caused the pair to pay some attention. “Would you like to come for dinner?" He looked up at his team mate and made a welcoming gesture. "You did say her cooking was good.”

Immediately, Kaminari snapped back around and scowled while she pointed at the boy stood beside her. “He ate your lunch?”

“I let him have what I left.”

Running a hand over her face, the female grumbled. “Really…You don’t eat enough as it is.” Flapping her arms, she set off towards the grocery store in a huff.

Jogging to catch up, Kuroko spoke his mind. “You make too much.”

“There’s no wonder you’re so scrawny.”

“I have muscles.”

“Yeah, a giant one called an idiot muscle in your skull.” She punched him lightly in the temple to make her point but the shorter boy just shook it off.

“Aneue, that’s called a brain.”

Tank top wet from the rain and breasts bouncing as she pointed violently, the girl yapped. “It’s only a brain when you use it right.”

“Aneue?" Kagami, who was following without much trouble,  perked up. "So, you’re older that him?”

“Of course.” She furrowed her brows, as if it should be obvious. “I’m in my last year of high school.”

Confused by the remark at the fact of her earlier appearance, the Power Forward mumbled to himself as he tried to figure it out. “But you were here this afternoon.”

“I escaped the hospital." The girl deadpan as she marched a pace ahead of the male pair, avoiding the cover of the umbrella.

"E-escaped?" Fretting, Kagami looked the girl up and down for any clear injuries. “What are you doing walking around in the rain?”

“You're as bad as Tsuya." Wafting her hand over her shoulder, the female glanced back over her shoulder with a wink. "Don’t worry about me." Hoisting up both hers and her brother's bag into a more cumfortable position on her shoulder, the girl grinned. "I’m tougher than I look.”

“She fell off her school roof.” Kuroko deadpan.

“E-eh?” Kagami gawped between his odd team mate and the pale girl causing their fellow students to part like the Red Sea as walked down the narrow street.

Eyes wider than usual, the shorter boy made hand gestures. “It was lucky really - The gym was getting cleaned and the foam mats were outside.”

Speaking as it was something completely normal, Kaminari shrugged. “I should have been more careful. My horoscope said I was going to have a bad day.”

“He still sends you those emails?” The shorter sibling asked and Kaminari nodded once.

"Because we have clashing signs, he often rants to me." Shrugging, the girl flicked the dirt from her her nails. "For somebody who talks so little, he can write a lot. His windy emails were one of the best things I had whilst I was stuck in bed," frowning, she thought about what she was saying. "even if most of it was just cursing me."

Frowning, Kuroko stared at his sibling's back. She had always been like that, so cavalier. Despite being a hot-head and jumping into a fight without thinking, she would always waved off the things that really bothered her. He wasn't sure when it had happened to her as he had always seen her like that, but he would bet his life that it was their home life that caused it. He wasn't the type to throw blame around, but in this case, it was always hard to hold back.

Unbeknown to the three students walking into the grocery store, they had company. Koganei had managed to convince a few of the others (Although it didn’t take much of that) into checking out what their members and the female were up to. Quietly, the four lads ducked around corners and hid behind aisles as they watched their targets carefully.

After all, despite the amount of time they spent training together, none of them really spent personal time together unless it was talking game plans or practicing one-on-one. The original members had a good enough idea about each other after the years they'd spent together, but the lives of two new first years were just too tantilizing to ignore.

Stretching her arms behind her head, her figure straining the damp tank top as she arched her back, Kaminari hummed oblivious from the looks of male passersby. “What do you want to eat for dinner?”

Kuroko stared off. “Anything as long as there’s not a lot of it.”

“Hamburger steak.” The soon-to-be guest answered almost before Kuroko had finished his sentence.

Hidden behind a vegetable stand, Hyūga hissed. “Show some restraint, Kagami!”

Already accepting the bluntness of his team mate a while ago, and knowing how his sister hated social restraints, the shortest of the trio merely shuffled a few paces behind as the pair talked ingredients with more joy than was neccessary. "Hey, Tsuya," the female glanced back with a toothy grin. "don't you think he and Rin would get along?"

Glancing up from the heated pads at the end of aisle, Kuroko stared blankly. "Please don't let them meet." he spoke flatly but the older sibling could clearly see the look of anguish in her brother's eyes.

An uncomfortable feeling crept upon the girl inspecting lettuce. Looking past the green object in her hand and down slightly, she was met by a pair of bespectacled eyes peering back from behind the rack. Blinking, Kaminari tried to comprehend the situation, but before she had managed to do so, her body had instinctively moved. A grunt passed her lips and with a winning baseball pitch of a throw, the chilled salad propelled into the creep's face with brutal force.

Both Kuroko and Kagami had returned to the girl's side with the sound of her distress. and were now staring down on their floored Captain. It wasn’t long before Hyūga’s accomplices had also come out of hiding to aide their leader.

“What are you lot doing?” Oblivious to Kagami’s question, the three boys continued to fuss over the Shooting Guard clutching onto his face.

“Ah," a dull sound of recognition vibrated on the only female's lips. "I know you...” Kaminari elongated her neck towards her victim with scowl creasing her brows.

Hands plastered over the centre of his face as Izuki picked up his bent glasses from the white linoleum, the Seirin Captain gave a muffled groan. “Please realize that before throwing solid objects at me.”

Straightening up and glowering down on the bunch of boys, the female clicked her tongue off her teeth in distaste. “Tch, you were the one being a weirdo.”

Hyūga Junpei, who was known for his usually calm attitude in the face of intellegent comebacks, was at a loss for words. He couldn’t argue back because he knew it was true; he was being a weirdo - Was there any kind of person who would hide amongst food, spying on people, that wasn’t some kind of strange individual?

"Next time I find you peeping, any of you, I'll gauge your eyes ou-"

"Aneue." For the umpteenth time, Kuroko reigned his sibling in with a mere word.

As if she'd completely forgotten about the group by her feet, Kaminari continued to push the cart along. "Grab the corn and let's pay." Kagami glanced between the girl, and then his teammates as Kuroko rushed to help Hyūga to his feet before following the direction he'd been given.

Mouth ajar, Izuki placed his fingers on his chin as he stared at the woman's back. "Grab the porn and let's pay."

Smacking the Point guard on the back of the head, Hyūga snarled. "That is not what she said!"
