Introduction

I’ve a book of cards, these cards are very pretty. They are not anything like the usual cards. And you know, I’ll tell you a secret. These cards are the only one in their kind. It’s like someone made them and wanted them to be rare. They must be very old as the box is more new than the cards themselves. I treasure them. My mother had given them to me when she was in the hospital. A few days after this she passed away and my father had taken me far away from the city we lived in. The story behind the cards is very peculiar you know. My mom told me that they are magical. She said that they would come to life. How? I don’t know and my mom hadn’t told me. Before I knew the doctor had entered that time and pushed me outside. You know I don’t think they’ll be magical. Magic had died thousands of years before I was born. How can something still be magical at this time? I wish it were true. I could use some friends. Every night I look at the cards and think of my mother. I begin to talk with her and everything. Of course she doesn’t answer, but it sets me at ease. I would then rub the cards and then I would put them on a stand. I actually made a house for the set of cards, but it’s also a shrine, a shrine that I had built for my mother. I miss her so much.
