No one had ever loved Abed before. Sure, Annie had had a thing for him during that paintball war caused by City College and there was that one time that girl had fawned over him while he was playing the jock character in his high school senior days (it was for two days and only because someone told him he wouldn’t be able to act the part, obviously he had to prove them wrong) hell, there were even occasions where Britta had cracked for a couple of his crueller characters but all those times didn’t mean anything because that wasn’t the real Abed, no one had ever loved the real Abed.
He guessed he didn’t mind though because Abed had never loved anyone before either. He had his movies and his TV series, he could understand those better than real people anyway, it was all he needed. At least that’s what he had thought. It wasn’t until Troy had told him that he was now dating Britta that he started feeling an unfamiliar emotion, that maybe that television wasn’t all that he needed and it wasn’t until a few nights later that he realised as he laid in the top bunk, listening to the familiar sounds of his best friend’s steady breathing from the bed below his that maybe he needed more than movies, maybe, just maybe what he needed was Troy Barnes.
And this revelation worried him because he knew that real life wasn’t like a TV series or movies, real life was confusing and sometimes scary and in real life it wasn’t normal for a guy to be in love with his best friend. In real life, the best friend didn’t usually end up together with his best friend either. So he accepted that he was to be Troy’s very best friend and be supportive of his relationship with Britta and he told himself he was okay with that, he told himself he had to be okay.
But sometimes late at night after Troy had fallen asleep and Abed was left alone in his thoughts, he wasn’t okay.
a/n: Hii, this was just the foreword so the actual chapters are going to be longer.. I could have put this on the front page but meh, I don't like having long chunks of writing on the first page.
I hope you enjoyed this and I'll have the next chapter up asap!
