Chapter 1 - The New Girl

“Tsk! My uniform!” this tall ass guy grunted as he looked down on his now stained uniform. Whoops! I should’ve look where I was going or maybe he should be the one looking where he’s going since he’s so effin’ tall!

“I’m sorry! It’s a bit crowded here and I was getting pushed around. I’m pretty sure that’ll come off when you clean it.” I gave him an innocent smile then tried to walk off to my merry way but guess what? He grabbed my wrist and turned me back around to see his ugly face.

“You think a simple sorry would let you off so easily?” He scoffed as his gripped tightened around my wrist.

“Well yeah, unless you want to beat me up in front of the teachers to make you satisfied… how about that?” I gestured my eyes to the right where the teachers were. They had these ‘what’s going in here?’ expressions on their faces. Mr Colossal Titan here forced himself to let me go. Phew! Saved by the teachers.

Mr Colossal Titan went back to his squad and began eating as he gave me dirty looks after he sat down and in return I gave him my prettiest smile with matching wink. I then sat with this girl who was sitting by herself; she looked a bit lonely so I might as well keep her company. I, myself need company too since I just transferred to this school a few days ago. I’d say I’m coping really well, my English doesn’t suck even though I have a mild Korean accent but who cares about that? This school have that most delicious food ever!!!

“Are you just going to sit there and eat without introducing yourself to me?” the lonely girl asked as I barbarically ate the lunch I bought. I looked at her with a surprised face. Ahaha my bad, I tend to forget about people when food’s around.

“Oh sorry,” I apologized with my mouth full of tuna rolls, a piece flew out of my mouth causing the girl’s cheeks to twitch in disgust. I swallowed the food and then wiped the table, “Ehehe whoops.”

“I’ll pretend I never saw that… Anyways, my name is Isabella; I believe you’re the new girl in section A-2?” She slightly tilted her head with a light smile. Wow, she’s really pretty! Like model type of pretty, her medium short brown hair defines her jaw line and her small face really brings out her eyes.

“Yeah, that’s me. I’m Jordanne by the way, nice to meet you.” I half-heartedly smiled back at her. I can’t make out if she’s nice or what, but I guess she is since she’s letting me sit with her.

“Isn’t that a boy’s name?” she chuckled. Hmm, I get this a lot, I guess Jordanne is not the most common name for a girl’s name… but think about it! My name is dope!

“No, Jordan is a boy’s name but my name is Jordaaaanne, my name doesn’t have that abrupt tone to it.” I explained to her with a hint of annoyance. Why? Because she can’t make out the different tones between Jordan and Jordanne! I’m just a common sense person to be honest.

Isabella chuckled lightly as she nodded. Geeze, it’s so awkward between me and her, I hope to get to know her well though, and everybody seems to have their own squad already which sucks since people here aren’t that welcoming. This morning when I introduced myself to my class, I just found everyone intimidating. My classmates looked like they wanted to devour me or something; I never thought school in Japan was this scary.

After the bell rang for the last two periods, I headed straight to the classroom. I did ask if Isabella wanted to go to class together but she said she had to leave early. Well I guess it’s just me and I once again. I slide the door open causing my classmates to stop chatting with each other. Great, here comes the intimidating treatment again, why are they doing this to me?!

I waved at them with a forced smile as I make my way to my allocated seat near the window on the forth row. I set my bag on the floor and allowed my mind to wander as I looked out into the campus. It was really vast, the school took up a lot of land; it is an elementary, middle, high school facility after all.

“Breath taking view huh?” a girly but cute voice said from behind me, I turned around to have a glimpse of who the girl was and the back at the scenery again.

“Yeah, I guess.” I answered.

“My name is Sachi Valdez by the way but you can call me by my first name, Sachi!”  She insisted as I felt her intent stare, “You’re Korean aren’t you?”

“I am and I’m guessing you’re half Japanese.” I mockingly replied while rotating my chair around to talk to her face to face.

She giggled, “You’re a funny girl Jordanne, but I’m actually half Spanish.” Now that I got a good look at her face she does look Spanish, she has this long wavy hair and the best part of it is, it was so thick! I’m so jealous haha.

“Wow you’re really prett---y” I said dazed as I noticed this really handsome guy who entered the classroom, girls squealed as they greeted him hello and squealed more as he responded to their greeting. Sachi looked at the direction where my eyes were glued. This mysterious looking guy sat at the back, on the third row just a meter away from behind me. I quickly placed my attention back to Sachi and asked ever so quietly, “Who’s that?”

“Him, that’s Erick Yamazaki, he’s popular around here but he doesn’t have friends.” She whispered in my ear, “Nobody knows about his personal life apart from being a relative of the Twins.” She continued.

“Twins? I haven’t how come I haven’t seen anybody that looks identical around here.” I raised my eyebrows in confusion.

“That’s because they’re fraternal twins, Taichi and Shun Kamiya. They’re not in our class though, they’re in section A-1.” She quietly explained. Now I get it, I haven’t seen those boys yet or maybe I just haven’t noticed them until this Erick guy showed up.

Soon after the teacher arrived, the class began. I don’t know why but I’m getting this rush inside of me, like I’m getting excited for no reason. I hope something good is about to happen in my life. I’ve been in the dumps for too long especially with my parents pressuring me to take over the company once I graduate college, and because of this I feel like I don’t have a choice to choose what makes me happy in my life. I just need that one thing that would be the reason to strengthen me to tell my parents about my opinion about these important decisions.

*** Later that day ***

“Uwaah!!” I stretched my body after 2 and a half hour of sitting in class, “It feels good to finally get out of there.” I smiled to myself.

“Ahaha I know right?” Sachi agreed. She was also changing into her normal shoes, “Hey I’m going to hang out with my friends at this café, want to join us?”

“For real? I’d love to but I think I’ll pass for now, I need to get home since my tutor’s coming over today… maybe next time hm?” I replied. Damn, I really want to go with her and maybe make some friends because I’m really doing bad making friends by myself, if Sachi wasn’t in my class maybe I’d be a total loner.

“Aw, well you better come next time or else I would have to forcedly drag you with me, tutor or no tutor.” She pointed her finger at me with a stern face that was quickly replaced by her killer smile, “See ya then!” She waved and ran toward the gate of the campus. Sighing to myself, I watched Sachi disappear with her friends. Having friends is a good thing but I’ve had enough of being lied to and betrayed. I’m not saying Sachi looks like that type of person, she’s very kind. It’s just I find it hard to trust anyone right now.

Slowly I walked out of the quiet building but that quietness soon got taken over by a small group of girls pushing a guy towards this giant ass tree. I quickly stepped back to let them pass me. The guy was all ‘What’s this all about?’ with a giant grin on his face. Wait a minute! It’s that Erick Yamazaki guy in my class! I watched the girls ran out and left Erick with the girl standing alone in the tree. Hmm now I’m curious! There’s nothing wrong if I eavesdrop for just a minute right? I hid around the corner so that both of them won’t see me.

“Umm~ this is for you! I like you Yamazaki-senpai, please accept my feelings!” The girl said in a hurry as she bowed her head down, she was unable to look since she was blushing too much. I heard Erick take a deep breath before chuckling.

“Listen Tamai-san, this is really thoughtful of you to make these cute cookies and make an effort but…” He paused and the girl looked up with her eyes starting to get teary, “I’m not looking for a relationship right now but in time, we’ll see. Don’t cry now alright?” He sweetly smiled at her as he lightly patted her head to cheer her up.

“I see… but please take these cookies if you can accept my feelings!!” The girls pushed the box of cookies on Erick’s chest then ran away, leaving him… annoyed? Hold up what? I thought he rejected her but why does he look annoyed now?

Erick looked around and I hid a bit farther but still I can see what he was doing. He looked at the cookies, following with a sigh as he walked towards the bin, “Tsk. They never learn they’re so stupid. Hah, I’m getting fed up with this whole romance b*llsh*t.  What a waste of time.” He said to himself.

I accidentally gasped out loud at what I heard, I covered my mouth; shocked at what I just did, “Shit.” I thought to myself, what just happened? He totally transformed from an angel to a Satan. I hear his footsteps slowly coming closer.

“Who’s there? If you don’t show yourself you’re dead!” He said in an arrogant tone.

“Hah! Really now? You don’t scare me Satan! What you said about that girl was not cool! You’re the fakest person I’ve ever seen!” I told him off and then ran as fast as I can. I lied at the ‘you don’t scare me’ part; the truth was I was shaking to death. I ran without looking back, I hope I didn’t leave anything behind that would lead him to me because he sounded pretty serious with his threat.

Suddenly this guy appeared out of nowhere causing us to clash on each other, “Sorry!” we said in unison. He had his hands gripped on my forearm, maybe to keep himself from falling.

“Excuse me.” I broke that awkward stare that was going on for 3 seconds (which felt like a long time). I pushed him out of my way and began running towards the train station.

*** Author’s POV ***

Before Erick could catch the girl who called him fake, she already got away. He watched her figure disappear in the distance with a subtle look on his face, “You’ll eventually show yourself one day.” He then fixed his backpack and walked his way to the front gates. As he got closer he saw his cousins and his friends still hanging around the gates.

“Oi Erick! You’ll never guess what.” Taichi cheerfully blocked Erick’s way.

“What?” Erick said with a clear bore on the tone of his voice.

“I said guess my cousin!” He grinned and swung his arms over Erick’s shoulder, “I just saw the most beautiful girl in campus.” He whispered in his cousin’s ear.

“Good for you.” Erick removed his cousin’s arm and continued his way out of the school.

“Oi Erick! You should join in with us next time we’re to hang out with the girls!” Taichi shouted at Erick who never looked back but just waved his hands at him, “What do we do to get you back Erick?” Taichi sighed.

“You have to accept him that way Taichi, whether you like it or not.” Shun patted his twin’s back, “The girls are here, let’s go!” Shun smiled at his twin who felt a bit dismayed by the way Erick acted.
