An eel as bf

One day my boyfriend went for a dive in the sea, when I was at work. I waited for him to return home, but at midnight I decided to go to bed. The next day he still wasn’t at home and I got really anxious. I ran to the police and asked them to look for him, they asked me when I had seen him the last time and I answered truthfully. I added that I had called with him in the afternoon. They told me that when he was twenty-four hours missing, that I should come back. So I waited in fear. When he wasn’t back, nor called in the afternoon, I went back to the police and reported immediately.
For days they searched but didn’t fine him. For days I cried, calling out his name. Eventually the police looked for a body, but even his corpse wasn’t found. I was desperate. I didn’t know what to do and my heart pounded while it was filled with sadness. After a while I thought about suicide. The doctors diagnosed me with depression and everything. I ate less, I was tired, and I didn’t want to do anything. And then I lost my job. I had to move out of my house, to something much smaller and cheaper.
And then it came to me. I was going to dive after him. I took my gear, I went to that place. I checked my tank. And I dived into the sea. I swam deeper and deeper. I saw a lot of pretty creatures, but I couldn’t enjoy any of it. I swam and swam a lot faster and eventually I got stuck in a stream. It was very fast and almost too difficult to keep myself from bumping into the walls. Then I was shot up into a cave. I closed my tank and laid my gear on the ground. Then I lifted myself onto the dry land. Finally I dared to look around. In the cave there were levels and the rocks made a natural stairs, though the cave was bizarre too. There was a table with two chairs, a couch, treasure chests, towels, etc. It was as if someone lived here. The objects looked as if the sea had touched it. So it had to be taken from the bottom.
Without warning a white head with black hair and full black eyes popped out of the water. I was shocked and fell. I looked closer and the face looked familiar. It was my boyfriend! Astonished I sat there on the ground. The figure came at me and rose out of the water. It was fully white with scales and gills. The tail was like that from an eel. And slowly it went on the dry land, still staring at me. I crawled against a cave wall. And he dried and while he dried he became more human. His eyes became normal and had a green colour, his hair became brown and his skin was like the one from a human. I was intrigued at this sight and eventually it spoke: “Who are you? Why are you here?”
“Aron, is that you?”
“Who? Who are you?”
“I am Esther, your girlfriend.”
“Girlfriend? I don’t remember I have one.”
I stared at him in disbelieve. He apologized: “I am sorry. I don’t have any memories.” I sighed. This isn’t possible, is it? “If you know who I am can you please help me?”
“O-o-o-o of course.”
“Thank you. I really was depressed you know.” He stood up and went up the cave’s stairs. He went into a cabin and came back fully dressed in clothes that he must have found somewhere. He sat beside me. “You called me Aron, didn’t you?” I nodded. “Is that my name?” I nodded again. “And our relation consists of me being your boyfriend and you being my girlfriend.” I nodded: “We even lived together.” He stood up and walked around. “Can I get out?” He stared at me. “Well, let’s find out.” He undressed himself and went in the water. I putted my gear on and followed him. We got at the stream. “You ready?”, he asked. I nodded and went in the stream after him, but soon I was blown back. And I was in the cave again. I sighed and took of my gear. It would have no use if I would try again. He came back up. “I am sorry. It’s probably because you don’t have a strong tail.” I nodded. I crawled against the wall and pulled in my knees, embracing them and worried. “You can stay here, if you like.”
“I don’t have much choice.”
“You know. I do remember something.” I looked up to him: “What do you remember.” He dressed himself quickly and came to sit beside me. “Well I know that I was something like you. And I was suffocating. I even have those things that you have with you. And the sea saved me. It glowed and turned me in the thing that I am now. I still am human when I am on land. But in the water I am like a merman, only I don’t have the same tail. As I have more an eel like tail. Then I came here. And with all the days that I had to stay here I collected stuff to make myself comfortable. I had the feeling that someone was waiting for me, but I couldn’t comprehend, I didn’t know who or where, nor why. The person, who has been waiting for me, must be you and probably because I am or was your boyfriend and you love or loved me.” He looked at me with hopeful eyes. I didn’t know what to say or what to do. “Well for now, let’s sleep.” He led me to a bed that he must have taken out of the sea. He gave me the bed to sleep on and asked if he may sleep beside me. I didn’t refuse. He was my boyfriend after all. The bed wasn’t comfortable though, but I expected that.
The next morning I felt stiff, my muscles hurt and I was hungry. Aron awoke: “You are hungry, aren’t you? You probably don’t like seaweed. So I’ll catch a fish for you.” He jumped out of bed and was gone before I could answer. I still loved him so much. He was so caring. I looked around and took out stuff to make a fire. No way that I was going to eat whatever fish he caught raw. I set the table too with silverware out of the treasure chests, although this could be better called ‘goldware’. I waited for Aron. And at the meanwhile I was searching the whole area of the cave that he had used until now. He arrived and I was relieved. I lit the fire and he helped me with preparing. “Aron.”
“Yes?”
“Do you still love me?”
“I don’t know. I do feel attracted to you though.” I stared in the fire. I knew he would say such things, but I still was disappointed. We sat at the table and ate the fish. I looked at him often and he noticed, sometimes he blushed because of it. How could some characteristics change without you memory? He mostly didn’t blush, so it was a rare and weird sight. “Can you communicate with fish?”
“Not really.”
“Oh?”
“Not that I didn’t try, but it seems hopeless.”
“That is a pity.”
“That’s what made life down here lonely.” I looked at him. He must have been very lonely. He must be glad to have me here. Maybe that’s why he feels attracted to me. “What’s your name?”
“I am Esther.”
