Eli sighed as he waited for class to finish. Finally, the bell rang. He stood up straight, gathered his things and walked over to Amber. Taking her arm, he led her out the door and down the corridor. From the corner of his eye, he could see Jessica getting up to follow them. Jessica followed, unnoticed by the two in front. As they sat down in their usual spots at the back of the school, Jessica sat with them.
"Hey guys! ~" She exclaimed "How have you been lately?" she directed her question at Amber, smiling hugely at her.
"Hey Jessica, I'm doing great. You?"
"Good thanks. Oh, and Eli, can I come over to your house tonight? My television broke last week, and there's a movie I was hoping to watch tonight."
Eli didn't like Jessica. He had liked her when he first met her, a month ago when she moved to this school. But after the first few days, he began to notice her coaxing Amber away from him, and being Amber best friend, he hated that. Therefore, he hated Jessica. Hesitantly, he nodded his head, keeping his eyes down.
"Great. I'll walk to your house with you after school."
They walked into Eli's house, wiping their feet as they entered. Jessica watched as Eli walked into a blue themed lounge room on the right, and lounge on the couch.
"I'll go get drinks." Jessica yelled as she walked into the green kitchen. Is every room here a different colour? Weirdos. She thought. She looked around the nice, homey room. What should I use... Knife? Too over used, stick? Not enough damage. She kept looking around until she remembered what she was there for. She opened the fridge, and saw the perfect murder weapon.
"Eli," she said, walking out of the kitchen with the full glass bottle in her hand.
"Yes?" Eli looked up. His expression turned from bored to terrified as he saw Jessica raise the bottle above her head. She brang the bottle down hard on his face, glass shattering and soda spraying everywhere. Eli's face was bloody as Jessica grabbed him by his shirt collar and pulled him up close.
"Do you know why I'm doing this?" She spat in his face. Eli, struggling to keep his eyes open, shook his head.
"It's because you," she looked him up and down, a disgusted look on her face, "You, just can't accept that I deserve Amber more. I've never had any family, any friends, nothing. Everybody hates me. I finally had a friend." Eli felt sorry for her. He had always had Amber. “I’ve never had anybody, but now I've found somebody. And I'm not giving up now." She grabbed hold of his neck, and squeezed. Eli's eyes were bulging, his mouth hanging open in shock. He reached at her hands and started to rake at her arms. She kicked him off and squeezed harder, blocking off any air that dared enter his lungs.
It didn't take long for Eli to be laying limp in her grasp. She dropped him to the ground, staring at his tangled, limp body. She picked him up and lay him on the couch, setting him up in a relaxed, lounging position. When she was satisfied with his posture and position, she cleaned up the glass and put it in the bin. Then she walked through the front door, grabbed a rock and threw it through the window towards Eli, so that the glass would be on the inside. She walked through the front door, locked it, and picked up the rock. Rubbing a decent amount of blood on it, she put it on the couch next to Eli, so as it would look like it hit him in the face, instead of being cut with glass.
She nimbly jumped through the broken window, pulling her collar up around her neck, and walked down the street unnoticed. She grinned as she watched an ambulance fly past.
