Imagine if you got an invitation to one of the big parties out there. Alexis thought imagining was the closest she can get but Andrew Kim, one of the guys from the big fraternity houses was inviting her to their party tonight, Alexis just couldn't believe it. How can she? All her middle and high school life it was always her brother getting invited to parties and trap houses, and Alex over exagerrating her stories of her cousin Robyn letting her take a sip of the Glenlivet in family parties just so she can have a story.
To be quite honest, Alexis has always been the average girl out there. She was a chubby girl who was never content on how she looks and hid in regular tees and shorts. Alexis was one of those people that people in her grade knew but not cool enough with them to invite but also not lame enough for them to pick on. Alexis knew people talked about her once in a while but nothing ever gets pass than two girls talking bad about her. There was a rumor that her and this guy Julian dated, they didn't, it was just this rumor a girl name Anne pulled from a mere conclusion. The rumor never got far other than like five people to actually care about the rumor because the other hundred other people either didn't know Alexis, or didn't care. But now, Alexis is far from how she looked like in her teeanage years.
Alexis was picked on by her mom. She knew her mom meant well, but sometimes her mom crosses the line. But Alexis saw all her acne and acne scars and her weight. And for her, that wasn't how she wanted to be. After years of hallow new years resolution she finally worked for it and lost weight over time. She also invested hundreds of dollars on her skin care routine and clothes. Alexis just looked like a completely different person when she stepped into college, she wished she came to her senses sooner, but she couldn't change the past, she could only mold her future.
Alexis would wonder if she looked like how she did now back in high school, if people actually took interest in her or if a certain guy would even cast glance. Or even if how she looked now is what got her the party invitation for tonight. Alexis can't resist from revisiting the past only to dwell on what ifs.
Alexis ran to her apartment she shared with her friends. She barged in and saw Hana, Sophia, Chrystal and their neighbor, Nick sprawled all over their half packed living room. Months after they moved in no one has gone around to unpacking anything but their clothes.
"Did you guys get invited?" Alexis asks very excited.
Everyone nods without even looking up.
"They why aren't you guys getting dressed, come on. Hurry up," Alexis claps and drags Sophia to their room.
"Why are you so laddy-da about this anyways? I mean, it's not like Brooklyn Beckham or Andrew Kim invited you personally, I heard they're the ones who would only invite the "chosen" ones. Plus they're the cutest in the fraternity house, which says something, that house is something," Sophia groans.
"That's the thing, Andrew Kim did invite me," Alexis says while looking through boxes of her clothes.
"What?!" Sophia runs out the room and yells, "You guys know why Alex is so hyped about this party?"
"Because she hasn't been to one thrown by people her age since like, ever?" Hana teases.
"Shut up Hana. It's because Andrew Kim invited her," Sophia brags.
That got the two girls attention more than ever. They look on shock.
"How about this?" Alexis holds up a skater dress with a red flannel.
"Oh, honey, that's too, casual and innocent for your first time. Let's try something very deep in your box ok?" Chrystal chuckles and leads Alexis back in the room.
"What? I was going to par it with my black converse," Alexis says confused.
Chrystal ignores her friend and digs in her friend's box, throwing pieces of clothing on her bed.
"This and my glittered platforms, how about it?" Chrystal shows Alexis a black bondage crop top with a white skater skirt.
Alexis giggles and dresses quickly.
"Okay, we're only going because we got invited by Andrew Kim not some guy who claims to be in the house but isn't. Oh, my life," Hana facepalms. "Where's Alex? How hard is it to put on a couple of things?"
"Calm down the party isn't in about two hours, so that gives us three," Nick says looking up from his bowl of popcorn.
"Oh, no. We're going to be half an hour late. This party is different okay. We're actually going with someone who directly got invited. Still a long shot but those other times we've went, the guy who invited us didn't even go to the school and the frat guys didn't even know him nor us," Sophia comments.
Alex steps out from her and Sophia's room, "How about it?"
They all stared, Nick actually drooled. Alexis had red lipstick that stood out on her plump lips with a smoky eye makeup with her long eyelashes in display.
"Perfect," Nick says.
Nick had a crush on Alexis when they first moved in. Since then, he's been trying to make a move on her. But he tried to be friends with her first before anything happens. And months later, he's still a friend.
"Okay, well you guys have to count me out of this one. I still have to finish up my paper for one of my classes," Nick says and goes to his apartment.
After two hours, everyone was ready. Chrystal wore an all black skin tight dress with long sleeves. Hana wore a black zip-up crop top with a black leather skirt and black platforms. Sophia wore a floral crop top and a white skirt and her black litas.
"I honestly lost count after the 30th cup," Hana comments.
"Why the hell would she drink so much?"
"It's May," Sophia says and goes in her room.
"Damn, did you see Alexis chug down the keg like no tomorrow," Andrew says sitting down next to Brooklyn.
"Yeah, and she didn't even pass out at all," Brooklyn says and looks at the keg.
"But she couldn't walk either," Andrew comments. "You still like her?"
"Was this party set up to test me? Was that why you invited her?" Brooklyn accuses.
"I'm not going to lie, yes."
"Well, it didn't work. So what if she drinks a lot? Alexis probably had a reason to," Brooklyn stands up from the living room and slams his door to his room.
"Damn, I guess Alexis wasn't the only one who had to much to drink," Andrew says.

xandermartin98 on says about chapter 2:
Nice job! I do enjoy romance and this story is doing a pretty decent job of conveying it. :)
