Description
"If you want to get on a time machine and travel back to the past, go ahead. But I don't want to go with you. Everything I like is here."
These are lines I cannot relate to at all. Even though I like my modern life and current state, I love the past more. Everything is cooler when we are no longer living in it.
Case in point, this website. It's pretty much a copy of AFF circa 2012, and I'm so happy to have found it.
In 2012, I had just started writing fanfic and had no clue that I would keep it up (tho on and off now) for 4 more years. Four more years man. Back then, I sometimes wondered what would happen w/ my fanfic writing by the time I got out of high school, and I assumed that I would stop or lose interest. But I haven't. I'm still going. A lot has changed.
The website has changed ofc. The layout is different. The color scheme is different. Man, back then AFF was this website but in green. And we used to get notifications of comments (which were the best) and subscriptions (a second to comments) w/ an orange badge on the side of the screen. I barely had time w/ the old layout before the layout got switched, so much so that I was still getting pits of butterflies whenever a new comment or subscription notification appeared.
Producing a work and having it be appreciated was important to young me. So this is a narration of my experience w/ AFF. It is sometimes funny, sometimes light-hearted, sometimes sad. The Internet can be a sad place sometimes.
A/N: beginning line an approximate translation (w/ my embellishments) of a line i heard in a drama lol
