A wisp of a smile. Wind blowing through rugged hair. Pale fingertips holding onto mine. A nostalgic expression.
He held onto me through dreams.
--
I heard once before that we can only dream of people we've met before - even if it's in passing.
So how is it that I dream of him? Someone that, if I had met before, it'd be impossible not to remember.
I live through the bits and pieces I get of him through my dreams. Like torn-up little pieces of paper that were floating through space to get to me.
--
I get up suddenly, blood rushing to my head and causing little dots to cloud my consciousness. Today's dream felt... different. Like staring at a painting only to feel like it's staring back at you. By now, the hazy image of his face feels familiar; his silhouette a comfort to me. Though I didn't know him, it felt like he was near me; closer today than he had been before.
I blink, everything coming into vision and I recognize my room again. My gaze shifts from my door, to the dressers, to my stuffed animals.... all the way to my favorite reading chair. Except there was a strange figure perched on top of it.
Not just any figure...
Him.
Gasping, my hands fly to my mouth as I back up into my bedframe. Fear, surprise, and a mix of strange relief fill my thoughts. First, even if I had dreamt of him, who the heck was this guy and how did he trespass into my house?? Second... how did he get in?? Was I in danger?
As these thoughts were flying through my mind, the guy looked up.
Amber. Warm, goldish amber eyes bored into my wide, grey ones. His face didn't show much expression, instead, it was as if he belonged in this house. As if it were his house that I just happened to wake up in.
His shoulders unfurled as he stood up, letting his lanky frame fill up my room. He kept my gaze as he held a palm out - as if he was sensing my fear, hearing my thoughts.
"You don't need to be scared." He says, as if it would be the easiest thing in the world to not be scared when confronted with a stranger in your room first thing in the morning.
I was still at a loss for words, hands slightly trembling as I tried to brace myself against the wall.
"Who the f are you???" I intended for the words to leave my mouth as a daring question, but it fell short and my voice cracked.
His eyebrows knit together as he paused to consider his answer. Seconds passed before he crossed his arms in front of his chest and replied:
"I'm your soulmate."

Hi!!! It's actually been a long time since I ever started this but I decided that i kinda want to start writing again. I miss the fun of just writing and not having to worry about anything. So my goal is going to be to finish these 100 prompts at least!!

Wow, these stories are really nice. Creating a story plot out of prompts is really awesome, I really like to do those as well. Continue writing! I will carry on reading as well. (:

I like this one! Especially when I can, kind of, relate it. Not that I'm a smart student but I've been stressed out lately, I understand what the characters feel.
