Under the broken bed in the middle of the forest was a huge underground base where he was sucked inside.
There was no escape.
Pitch groaned. His back hurt after getting dragged deep below by his own nightmare black horse creatures with gold eyes. But later, when he found himself lying on the cold cave, they were gone. They vanished at the moment he wanted to. But he could still feel his own powers crawling all over his skin. Pitch felt fear.
He pressed his hands together, rubbing it, forcing himself that it would be okay. But there he was hurt, wounded deep inside.
It was his duty to destroy dreams and spread fear. To give the scariest nightmare children could ever dream of. In the end he himself became a victim of the darkness that was supposed to be his advantage and weapon against the guardians.
And he lost.
"What an adorable dream. What's more powerful? It's fear."
That was what he confidently said. However, the voice at the back of his throat was now wanting to take back all those words. He was his own victim.
"You can't kill fear, Jack."
But Jack Frost did.
Pitch stood up and studied the dark cave. He had empty ages, bridges, escalators, and a globe similar to North's. Somehow, the place looked darker. There was a heavy atmosphere of pain sending chills over his nape. He tried not to scream.
If he could destroy everything in front of him, he would. But Pitch was scared. He was trapped and there was no place for him to go but here in the dark.
"Maybe I want what you have, to be believed in. Maybe I'm tired of hiding under the beds!"
He thought they'd understand. They never did.
He was jealous. The other guardians were beloved by children. Their smiles show every time North and the others were there while he was also here, existing, but unseen. Feared.
"We don't have to be alone, Jack."
He thought he'd understand. Jack never did.
Jack Frost was his only hope. The power of that rebellious boy and his was perfect to cast fear all over the world. But Jack, the person who was similar to him and once casted out could be seen now. Jack defeated fear.
Pitch lifted his head up scanning the cave. It’s so dark. Soon enough it would be night and he would ask the moon, "why?" Why was he left out? Was it related to his past? He could not answer. He did not remember anything and the moon always kept silent, watching over him.
Weakly, he climbed upstairs towards the lightless globe. His world was lightless, indeed.
And it became darker.
There was this part of his head that was telling him that darkness was just the other side of who Moon made him, and the other side was the real, weak and fearful Pitch. Though he knew all of these, he was trapped in the dark side.
He was his own darkness.
And there was no escape.

Oh, that was sadd. :(
I admit, while watching rotg, i couldn't help but feel a bit of pity for pitch...
