Description

"I once saw a cat with massive eyes and a crescent moon shaped face. It was creeping down an alleyway along the shadows, sniffing the ground as it went...until it realized it was no longer alone and then it froze, staring right back at me. Its eyes glowed out from the darkness almost as bright as car headlights. Looking me up and down it hissed defensively, sinking deeper into the shadow…and then the light of its eyes switched off and the thing completely vanished!"

Hedgehog & Yoghurt is about a House-Moggy who accidentally finds himself homeless in a strange village on 'moving house' night. Lost from his boy - Ashley he has to make a new life while waiting in hope to go home.

Yoghurt isn't the brightest of Mogs and even forgets his own name. Dependant on his owner he must now learn to fend for himself. Shacking up in a dumped little accoustic guitar in an overgrown campsite of the village's nearby woods ,Yoghurt gets his new name when a piece of litter gets splattered against his new house on an Autumn wind and a Little Hedgehog tries reading it for him.

“Medgejog, you’re awake!” he exclaimed excitedly as if it was the first time he had tried the trick, “You’ll never guess what the wind brought for me!”

Hedgehog groaned.

“Hurry up Hedgehog or it might blow away”

"What does it say?" the little Mog asked Hedgehog curiously and Hedgehog leaned up squinting her eyes at the letters spelling 'RASPBERRY' on the circular foil.

"I'm not sure" she confessed "I didn’t sleep long enough outside the Nursery to learn the last three letters, but I know it's a Yoghurt pot lid"

"Then that shall be my name" the little Mog announced happily, his eyes sparkling proudly at the new name badge stuck with pink goo to his Guitar house.

"Yoghurt Pot Lid?" Hedgehog questioned.

“And just ‘Yoghurt’ for short” Mog added smiling.

“Are you sure?” the little Spikey Thing asked again and Mog nodded enthusiastically, confirming his answer. It was a peculiar name for a peculiar Mog and Hedgehog thought it suited him well.

With Autumn waning to Winter and the little dishes of 'Dinner' left at the edge of the woods by an old man to keep him fed turn dry, Yoghurt and his friends must find out why. After all, a House Moggy must protect his 'Plate of Dinner' at all cost. With the Village Hag (dubbed a "Witch") and her strange magic called 'Flu' which has descended upon the sleepy village of Haccerburn and a heard Promise that the witch will visit the old man on Christmas Eve, Yoghurt must take on the adventure of his life to save the old man that feeds him and thus restore his Plate of Dinner, to keep himself fed until his boy comes back to take him home again.

Foreword

From Witch spying to Halloween, the magic of bonfire night, riding the back of a tractor and nocturnal feline-angry Squirrels, Yoghurt must embark on the adventure of a lifetime to save not only his own plate of dinner but the possible dinner-loss for all Mogs and Cats alike.

This story is not just for Cat Lovers, but people who also have fire and passion in their hearts that they'll fight for what they believe in. Although the reader knows from the beginning that the Flu is not the power of a Hag and the battle has always be an unneccessary one, the power of belief among the characters is enough to keep the story driving forwards. If you don't have the knowledge you seek but you believe strongly enough regardless then anything important to the heart must be fought for. And that's the underlying power of my story...I hope.
