Too good to last.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Spring has always reminded me of birth, and new beginnings. It was almost as if the earth had underwent a renaissance, and the blossoms burst into full bloom with vivid brilliance.
The blades of grass underneath my skin were coarse and itchy, and clouds obscured the sun overhead, giving shelter from the sweltering heat. I closed my eyes as I lay on my mother’s lap, the breeze caressed my sweaty skin. Mom was knitting peacefully, and as she weaved the fabrics, I heard her start to sing softly. It was an old lullaby that she used to sing when I was a child, and the calming melody mingled with the familiar smell of roasting cinnamon that drifted from the open window - signaling Aunt Carrie’s presence in the kitchen as she baked.
In that brief moment, everything was perfect.
I should have known it was too good to last.

Interesting. It shall be a sweet read. I love your wording and the way you've captured me from the FIRST sentence. And I love your artwork! I guess I know who to go to if I need a poster ;) haha. I can't wait. Take your time. Good luck.
