Chapter III

The sound echoed throughout the hall, leaving everyone shocked. I was absolutely humiliated. I thought, "What would my  family say if they saw me?" I was absolutely horrified and instinctively, I flinched.

I was educated during my upbringing that I was to be obedient and if I had disobeyed any of these rules, I would be punished so severely that I would often starve and lose at least 17- 20 kilograms and ended up looking like a stick the next day. Other times I would be beaten and locked up in a tower with absolutely no one to help treat my wounds.

I was interrupted from my thoughts when the boy who had laid his lips on mine laughed.

This man-thing- thought it was hilarious.

Hilarious, of all things. Laughing like a madman and a fool!

What an embarrassment! He should be ashamed. The spell of shock had passed and I knew that I would be fodder for the gossip of these elites. But right now, honestly, I didn't care because my ego was wounded. My entire pride was on the line here; I could take care of the gossip much later. Right now I had to deal with this certain thing in front of my face.

Jessica rushed forward and made the most unexpected movement. She placed her hand on the back of the boy's back and forced him to bow and quickly whispered a sorry. She rushed out with the boy, leaving the drama.

I was still shocked and was left gaping. She was gone like the wind and I was left alone. I decided to ask her questions later as she seemed to be busy.

The party ended 2 hours later and I was tired from all those exhausting time I had spent dancing with men after men. I retired into my chamber and fell asleep not long after I had bathed.

Little did I know that there was someone outside of the room and had sneaked into the room.

He smiled softly and he placed a gentle kiss on my forehead, watching as I crinkled my eyebrows. He left without a sound, leaving only a faint scent of honey and woods.
