A - Abandoned

Naruto never thought that he would have a reason to go to the Valley of the End. It was a place unnecessary to go to—especially one without reason. But one day Naruto found a reason, he found a proper excuse to make it necessary. The stakes would be much too high. He couldn't loose the person he had began to treasure the most. Not now. Not now since he had finally gained his trust.

"Baka! Don't throw everything away. You just can't! What about everybody else at the village?" 

A cold pair of dark onyx eyes stared back at him and all he felt was the cold. Something was much different than they were before. They weren't filled with emotion that he had once got accustomed to seeing. Perhaps that was his mistake.

"Naruto, you just don't understand." Sasuke answered, choosing to look away since he couldn't possibly say those words to Naruto directly. "I have to leave if I want to get stronger. I have to avenge my clan. Haven't I made that clear to you?"

"Baka, you don't have to do anything!" the other male pleaded, holding the headband of his old comrad in his hand. "C-Come back to the village. We'll help you get stronger."

"I'm afraid I can't do that," Sasuke turned his back, feeling the rain droplets fall on his now-bare forehead. It felt a bit foreign to him. Letting out a small mutter of words beneath his breath, Naruto closed his eyes, falling back onto the muddy surface of the pass. "You were always a big idiot."

Being now the only one to know their surroundings, Sasuke turned once more. Something inside his heart didn't feel right but he needed to leave, he needed to acquire that power. The Leaf didn't offer him that. Orochimaru did though. He didn't have a chance but to go. But maybe he would come back. Maybe.

If you don't know me from AFF, you probably don't know that I write things that are primarily yaoi based. I'm a really big Sasunaru shipper since Naruto was the first anime I really got into and those two characters really seemed to be close despite their differences. They seem like a bickering old couple to me actually.
