{01} Disappear

She ducked behind the pole as she saw him approaching with the girl.

It hurt her, seeing that. He was happy. So happy, unlike when he was around her.

When he was with her, he smiled here and there, but not anything like the idiotic grin that was spread across his face at the moment, while he looked at the girl besides him.

She sank to the ground, hearing his laughter. 
Why can't it be me? She thought.

She was on the verge of tears, but she was trying to hold herself together like she always did.
Today, though, it didn't seem as easy to hold herself together as it usually was.

She looked at the girl besides him, laughing, giggling.

She was pretty. Beautiful, in fact. 

Why can't I look like her? She wished that she didn't look the way she did.

Maybe then he'd like her. She felt torn.
She felt as if her world was falling apart. It felt terrible.

She shouldn't have let herself fall for another, she thought. 
Shouldn't have let down the walls that were around her heart.

But she did, and it turned out like this.
She'd let him break through those walls even when she'd never thought that he would be able to like her back.

She guessed that this was just how her life would always be.

Loving someone who only thought of her as a friend.

In this moment, she wished she could just disappear.
Cease to exist. Maybe then nothing could hurt her.
