The boy rushed over to the girl's house after receiving her voicemails.
He was anxious.
"Baby, please be fine." He whispered frantically as he ran across the streets to where her apartment building was.
Looking at the windows of her apartment, he got even more scared when it was dark.
Barely reaching the lobby of the building, he was out of breath, his legs aching and his heart in panic.
Continuing just after a second, he didn't bother to wait for the lift and proceed to run up the stairs to the sixth floor.
The sleeping guard continued sleeping, the lobby was still silent, everything was normal about this night, except for the couple.
Reaching the sixth floor in a record-breaking time of a minute, he immediately went to her door and keyed in the pass code.
1225, a number he will never forget. The day he confessed to her.
It was the best day yet of his life.
A light click sounded and he immediately turned the door knob to enter.
Taking the time to catch his breath only now, he stared into the vast darkness.
"Baby?" He called out, holding his breath once more.
Silence.
He fumbled for the light switch and flicked it on.
Now that he could see properly, his worry lessened.
The house was still neat and organised, just like how it was before.
Walking towards her room, he breathed softly, afraid that she would be asleep and he would wake her up.
Reaching the door that separated the couple from each other, he turned the knob lightly and pushed the door open.
Nothing, it was too dark for him to see anything.
Reaching for the light switch once again, he switched on the lights only to see her motionless body, staring out into the streets.
He sighed.
"Baby." He whispered.
Hearing that, the girl didn't move.
Her heart was in a mess, she could not differentiate her imagination from reality anymore.
"It's me." He continued and stepped forward.
Tears started spilling and flowed down her cheeks.
He was frightened.
"Baby!" He partially shouted, immediately rushing over to her side.
Hugging the reactionless her close to his own warmth, he rocked her back and forth, trying to make her stop crying.
"Baby, it's me. Why won't you look at me?" He cried, his tear flowed for the first time of the day.
Still not reacting to his voice and warmth, all the girl said was "I miss him."
His heart shattered at her broken self.
"Sorry!"
