Look Alike

Chapter 5

MaiLi made her way back home with her things. She opened the door to her house. With a low sigh she set the food in the fridge before it would spoil.

Which, would never happen around here of course. She walked to get her bag hanging from the wall. Her shift at work would start in less than 20 minutes.

Once she turned 18, the job that she was suppose to get for the rest of her life was already mandated and approved for her. Throughout school the teachers would give everyone aptitude tests to see which career would be best for them.

And would help their town grow bigger and better. MaiLi was lucky enough to get a job that would allow her to be close to nautre and little kids.

Whom she cared for dearly. She headed towards the kindergarden on the other side of town. Carrying little treats with her. She walked happily towards the little kids.

Luke snapped on the tracking device that the king had handed to him. He needed it to get around their kingdom. One which he had heard was very strict with rules.

From the things that Mr. Kim had described to him, It sounded more like a prison then a kingdom.  He shifted himself in front of the huge gated walls.

The treck here wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. He saw some dead people around the forest just like Mr. Kim had described.

But it wasn't as bad as he had thought. Luke took a deep breath concentracting himself. He was one of the lucky ones. One who had a power.

It wasn't normal nor abnormal to be born with one. But the people who did have one held special powers. He was one of them. His thoughts became strong.

He had to cross the fences without alerting the guards around here. After calming himself, his body started to lightly disapper in with the enviorment.

Luke walked slowly towards the fence, pushing himself towards the other side. Making sure that he was securely invisible to the naked eye.

Once he got out, he trecked towards the center of the town. Making himself visible once again. * MaiLi Kim, where are you? *

His eyes followed a girl down the street as she gracefully walked herself towards the small school building.

He pulled out the only picture he had off her, comparing it to the girl in front of him. " MaiLi? MaiLi.. Its her! " Luke ran towards her. Turning her towards him as he searched the picture.

" What the hell are you doing!? " MaiLi pulled herself away from his grasp backing up from him. " MaiLi? " " Excuse me? " She looked at him flabbergasted.

How did this guy even know her name? She's never seen him around here before. " You're MaiLi Kim. Right? " MaiLi nodded slowly.

" And you are? " Luke walked towards her. " I'm Luke. And I know where your father is. "
