A year has passed since you’ve unlocked the door into this life and although you are still very young, you have embraced life with your very own pair of eyes, hands and feet.

This world of big and scary, you have grown to find small and cosy. You’ve viewed the beautiful aspects of nature, people and ordinary objects found lying vacant. You find excitement in the littlest things and acknowledge the very little details.

You’ve touched the many textures that encircle and enrich our world. Smooth, rough, coarse and fine. Your palms sense the static among the carpet and your feet sense the tickle. Your soft skin will protect you from the hard concrete and the soft grass, but remember to keep the body armour handy.

You’ve experienced all the six senses if not a seventh and just because you can’t say it doesn’t mean there isn’t a word or feeling for it.

You’ve conquered every opportunity thrown at you. Place a crown above your head and wave to your adoring fans but know when the future is served to you on a golden platter that it will be tough. That walking and talking will be fused and your brain will become confused but all for good reasons.

Remember your manners, say excuse me when you need to get through and thank you when you receive something and always tell the people you love, “I love you,” but don’t tell the people you hate, “I hate you.”

Even though a year has passed no one expects this much from you. Only as time moves forward will you expect the unexpected, tackle huge feats or cuddle up and cry. Don’t keep things bottled up inside because one day you’ll explode like a volcano but don’t unveil all your secrets because people will use you.

They will remind you every day so don’t worry because you are still very young, with your very own pair of eyes, hands and feet. However remember this: you’re tiny figure has embraced life but as time passes, your huge life will embrace you.
