Chapter 8

I strolled through campus, observing the buildings. Some of the buildings had a Greek design, which I appreciated very much. The library, for example, had a Doric design very similar to The Parthenon. I wasn't alive during the building of The Parthenon, but my parents were. They were much older than me. Or as they say in England, they are much older than I. 

I grabbed lunch just outside campus from a hotdog vendor. It only cost a dollar and a half. Plus, he gave me extra ketchup. It reminded me of blood. How long had I not had blood now? I tried not to think of it. It would bring back memories of Ryan.

Once the big hand on my watch struck two, I made my way to the main office where the lady was the day before. I opened the door and the bells up top jingled. She looked up. It was a different lady. 

"Oh! You must be Alexa Castaneda! I've heard so much about you!" She blubbered on in a British accent. She clasped her hands together. "This way!" She waved me over to the back room.

I pulled out the same chair and sat, twirling the pencil on the desk between my forefinger and my thumb. "Which language test would you like?" The lady asked.

"Any." I replied in a monotone.

So that's how it went for the next couple hours. Test after test, the lady gave me more. She leaned over my shoulder as I took the Korean language test. I wrote in neat handwriting and tried not to peer back. She was making me feel like a zoo animal. If I was still a vampire, I would have probably sucked the life out of her already.

It was 5 PM when the test lady let me out. How annoying could humans get? 

Oops. I'm human too. Did I just insult myself?

I went back to the same vendor and bought two hotdogs this time. One for me, one for Ren.

Then I went off to the greenhouse again to attempt to find him.
