It's about time Alana needed to go to school again. She packed her books in her backpack and slung her backpack on. She woke up quite early. When she left the house, which was where she slept at, Willy's house, no one had woke up. Not even Willy himself. Alana had quietly dressed up and walked out from the house.
She had skipped her school for last few days. Alana also didn't want Willy to know about her so much. She's tired of everything that's happening. Sometime, she had wondered when was all of this drama's going to end. Alana even felt like her life was empty now. She could pictured how her scholarships all remained nothing like an empty paper.
She sighed. Even so, she could feel there's another life in her stomach. Alana turned guilty. How she regretting for not taking a meal beforehand. She might hurting the fetus inside her stomach right then. The innocent fetus that knows nothing about the world nor the sin that his mother had done.
Alana stomach churned badly. She ended up going to her class anyway. When she arrived, like a dejavu, she saw the classmates of hers staring at her. Like how she had imagined them looking at her when they will find out about her fetus and so.
But then, she's wrong. Zoe smirked at her in marvel. "New hair there, I see."
Alana breathed a sighed of relief. Thank God, she thought. Alana didn't say a thing as she just smile at her. She resumad as she walked to her desk. Kyle literally broke in to a grin. A too wide grinned. "Woo, looks like someone had cut her hair."
It wasn't a big deal though. So why was the people all talking about her new haircut. They didn't even now how the hell and what had actually happened in fact.
She waved it off and put her backpack on her chair. After 10 minutes, Willy then arrived. When he walked in to the class, his eyes went searching for that person. And when he saw her, he finally could breath properly. Of course, who wouldn't be worried of her.
Alana might probably want to kill herself again or worst. Willy went straight to his place. He didn't realized, behind him, Cara was all smiling like an idiot. She was giddy. Too giddy that Willy and her had arrived together.
Outside the classroom, Kai, the next door guy was watching Alana. Kai Danny Lee, a tall, a little dark, kind and perfect guy. He had admire Alana since the first time he saw her. He passed by her class as he watched her scribbling something in to her book. And he smiled.
Just like that, he's satisfied by looking at her. And it makes his day.
When history started, their teacher, Ms Margaret started her lesson emphasizing the importance topic of the lesson. Alana paid as much attention as she could. Then, her eyes drifted to Willy. She saw him being extra attentive in class lately.
Why. She wondered as she quietly sat at her seat. Kyle was talking with Helena, the girl who sat in front of them two.
"Okay, take out the work I gave to you last week." Ms Margaret said. Alana snapped back her attention to the teacher. Her eyes widened. Homework? She literally asked herself.
Only now she remember about it. She ducked in to her backpack in search for that piece of paper of the exercise Ms Margaret had given to them.
She frantically searched. Even the paper was not in her backpack. Ms Margaret noticed her as she lowered her glasses.
"Ms Cooper, are you losing your exercise again?" Ms Margaret said. Now, the attention was on her. Alana parted her lips about to admit it. Then, all o a sudden, Willy walked across his seat to hers.
"Actually, I borrowed her paper, Miss." He casually said. Cara stared at him a moment. Hannah blinked. Kyle seems lost . And there goes the jealousy of the girls.
"Ah, I see. You'd better not losing it, Alana." Ms Margaret reminds her and Alana silently nodded.
Willy walked back to his seat. As the teacher have their attention back on her. Alana realized that the writing wasn't hers. As a matter of course, it's Willy's. She looked at his back since he's facing the board. Deep inside, she's thankful that he saved her although she's still infuriated at him.
* * * * *
During P.E, the girls screamed crazily as they chased each other. Willy watched them annoyingly as he ducked the basketball out of Ryan's reached. Willy had been playing basketball since elementary school and not to mention, he's good at it. He ran towards the net. Successfully, he threw the ball in it and Cara literally glanced at him as she continued ran away from their catcher.
Willy took his water bottle as the other boys play. The said lad roamed his eyes searching for that one person. Willy saw her. She was roosted at the end of the bleachers, alone. Willy wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and settled down the water bottle earlier on to the bench.
Without thinking, Willy sauntered towards her direction. He carefully took his steps so he won't get caught. Alana was rather roosted there in deep thoughts. She had tied her hair into two ponytail. She didn't realized that there's another presence behind her.
Alana was thinking on about her work. Maybe she needs to stop working before they people know about the truth. She don't want bring shame to the family. Mostly not to her grandma who's not guilty at all and had nothing to do with it. In her mind, all that she could think was the money. How will she support her only grandma if she stop working.
Knowing that if she keep the money for getting to college was no use anymore. She sighed with heavy heart.
Willy heard her sighed well. He admire her fragile formed. Not that so he can take opportunity, but because she looked like someone he wanted to take care of, someone he could likely be himself to. If there's one thing Willy dislikes about her, that could be nothing. She's too good to be true. Not because she's perfect, but because Willy likes her even when she's stone-headed, hating him and the list could go on.
Willy can't seemed to find anything to hate on her. A smile crept on his face unknowingly.
Alana turned her head around searching for the said guy. She was startled when she saw him right behind her which made her sedimented on the ground. She let out a low yelped as she felt her bottom hurt.
Willy became perplexed. He came over near her to help her up. "Are you okay?" He asked as he got a held of her right arm.
Alana cleared her throat as she nodded. That's the least she could do after what he did by helping her doing the history exercise earlier. When she looked at his direction, she saw a figured watching them behind a tree. Alana immediately pried her arm off of him.
Willy was startled by her behaviour. She straightened herself and stood up as she walked brushed passed by him. He watched as she tagged along with the other classmates.
He sighed. What's gotten into her again this time.
Joana, the next door girl, whom had watching him behind a tree came to his side. Maybe no one know much about her, she's Ryan ex-girlfriend and was once closed to Alana. Since they had changed class, she barely talked to Alana anymore.
She approached Willy just like how other girl did. "Hey Willy," she simply greeted. She had planned all of this in her head, trying to make a conversation with the lad in front of her.
Willy did nothing more than just meekly smiled at her and then he walked off leaving her there. But Joana was more then contented with only his smile. How long had she waited that moment to said a simple hi to him.
* * * * *
Since Alana had stayed back to finish her work, Willy also had stayed too. He had been waiting for her, to be exact. He waited for her as she completed her work in the school library. Like a stalker, he watched her gracefully writing down her notes and stuck them on her book, with sticky notes.
It's not foreign anymore for him. He had observed her for almost 3 years although they aren't in a same class back then. Maybe that's the way she studied. In a quiet, small and peaceful place where she can comprehend everything she did. Even if it's about her life.
Alana took her backpack for umpteenth time that day and slung it on her back. She went down the stairs as she made her way to the hallway to go home. She had done her homework complete and even had revised her studies as well.
That's when she saw him., Willy, leaning against th school gate, flicking the tar road with the edge of his feet. He looks like a boyfriend waiting for his girlfriend.
Alana walked towards him. "You're done. Come on, let's go home." He's all smiling stretching his hand out for her to take.
She stared at his hand. Then she glanced back at him.
Don't tell me he had been waiting since school ended. She ceased her eyebrows together in a frown. Not that she minds, but he's really undoubtful.
Willy didn't wait anymore and good-naturely took her hand as he led her to the passenger seat. He opened the door for her and closed it back once she's inside.
Now, Alana felt wrong. She could see that he's putting his effort making her alive again. Even more, he cared too much for her rather than himself.
Willy drove them to her grandma's house. He didn't explain her for what because he just feels like doing it. Furthermore, it's the least he could do after what he did. He don't want to trammel her. Instead, he brought her there to let her like she stills belong there.
Alana didn't even say a thing as she went straight to the familiar house. A house where she can go to anytime she feels like.
She was conscious that her grandma was preparing for something. And that's when she saw it all. Ian, Willy's younger brother, there he's helping her grandma preparing the table for them to eat. She felt happy with just listening to the old lady's laughter.
She could tell that her grandma was happy. "Alana, honey, you're here finally!" the old lady exclaimed as she hugged the lass in front of her.
Alana let the old lady smooched her. She didn't mind at all. "Come in, we had prepared dinner for you guys. Where's Willy?" the excitement was clearly to be seen for her.
Alana broke into one grateful smile. Willy came in a second later. He went straight to the so-called-dining-room which look more likely like a small room.
"Willy, you're here. Take a seat." The old lady welcoming her now grandson. She watched as the young guy took his seat beside Alana. How she wished the moment would stay just like that eternally. Knowing that she's old, she couldn't wished more than her beloved granddaughter happiness.
"Hey Alana," Ian greeted her. Ian haven't talk much with his sister-in-law after their encounters. If Willy can be attracted to her modest self, than why not Ian? It's obvious that Ian likes her as his sister-in-law.
They started eating as her grandma, Ian and Willy chit-chat about this and that. Willy noticed that Alana was eating only a piece of chicken, he took the mixed vegies for her. Alana was caught offguard. She was too strucked by his unforeseen acts.
"You should eat healthily too," He simply said to her. That's made her stared at him in bewilderment. She literally almost rolled her eyes.
She didn't like it the way he's babying her. She didn't particularly hates it either. It's because she's no in the mood.
Her grandma chuckled in giddy. "Oh my, Alana you should listen to him. He's right." There's no way Alana could win because he's so damn right. Alana didn't have any choice but to listen to them. "Urm... grandma," Alana hesitatedly asked. She bit her lips inwardly.
The said old lady turned to her. "Can I sleep here tonight?" Alana finally asked.
Her grandma only smile, softened."Of course, honey. You're more than welcome." Her grandma said as she gazed into her granddaughter eyes.
Alana smile reassuringly. She was thankful that her grandma said so. "You too, Willy." She quickly added. Willy abruptly broke in a smile. He was relieved. It wasn't that he doesn't want his now wife sleep there, he wanted to be by her side. He needs to look after he as what he vowed to.
Rapidly, the night drifted really fast. Ian left the house and went home. Alana had taken a bath when Willy and her grandma sat nearby a small wooden postern. Although the house was small, limited and in wooden, he likes it. The small wooden house gives him a peaceful comfy.
After Alana had done showered, she was dressed up in a pink night gown. Willy watched his wife took a seat next to her grandma as the old lady sipped on her hot coffee.
Them three sat in a total silence relishing the sound of night wind blowing slightly accompanying them three. "Willy..." Her grandma started.
Willy could felt the anxiousness just by saying his name at the tip of her tongue. Alana watched as he grimaced a little not too obvious. Then, she could tell that he's trying to cover everything up. Only by that time Alana realized that he'd actually have normal feelings like others.
"Y-Yes grandma..." There he goes his stammering thing again. Alana noted that he's wearing an old shirt's of her granddad. Although the shirt looks a little smaller, yet it fitted his body perfectly. Willy got a slightly wide chest on the upper and a small waist down there.
Her grandma took one of them two's palm and held on them. "Please take care of my Alana. I trusted you, Willy. Even after what had happened. I saw how much you'd care about her and trying your best protecting her in every way you could leaving me not skeptical in believing you. I'ts not because you're her husband nor the father of the fetus. But how you claimed to be the one to take all the blame, when actually it's not yours. And I trusted you even on your smallest determination, Willy. You're a good boy, indeed."
He smiled encouragingly and squeezed the old lady's palm lightly. "I promise you grandma. I can take it if and I don't mind if it's my fault because I believed in Alana herself," His gazed dropped on her as she silently watched him on the side of her grandma.
"I'll take care of her, the unborn baby, and even you, grandma." He confessed. His words makes Alana realized how genuine this guy's feelings is. He was nothing than just an ordinary guy too.
Her grandma was touched too. She pursed her lips in a thin smile. "You, Alana. You need to listen to people. Listen to him for sometime, learn from your mistake. I know you're fragile deep inside," the old lady paused. Willy silently agreed, and yet he'd still admired her fragile side.
"Promise me, Alana. To take care of yourself, and forgive nor the least was to trust Willy. Because I I do, why can't you, right honey?" she squeezed the latter palm. Alana dropped her gazed away from her grandma's intensed eyes. She can't look at her properly. She don't want anyone to understand her fragile and insecure self. "Alana..." The old lady waited for her.
Alana bit the inside of her cheek slightly. She didn't know if she should promise her or not. "Alana, honey. I know, Willy knows that no matter what, you'd still hates him, don't you? But he's more than willingly to take care of you dear Alana." Alana let out a shaggy sighed in a low voice.
Her shoulders squeared up almost immediately. "I-I will try to..."
Just with that, Willy felt the happiness in his stomach doing the flip flop thing. As if he's in love. Willy smiled at her like how he'd usually did. If there's thing to envy of, they people will surely envy the way he smiled at her everytime.
"Thank you, Alana." Not knowingly, he wanted to say it to her so much. Her grandma joined their hands together as she put hers on top of theirs. "Now, let's live your life to the fullest and saviour each moment we have before it's too late."
Alana smiled at the old lady. That's the first time Willy had seen her smiling after everything that had happened. The long lost smile of her that looks like her bestfriend.
And just like that, the three of them talk and talk endlessly till morning. Alana ended up sleeping there since she's tired. Willy had initiated to lift her up to her room. While he, himself sleep at the thin mattress on the floor next to her bed.
When he saw her hand hanging above him, from the bed, he took her palm and intertwined their fingers together. Strangely, her hands felt warmer than her heart. Willy then drifted to sleep after a tired day.
