remarks ;
This picture book follows the four-year-old protagonist, Harold, and how he creates a world of his own with his purple crayon. This book was written to convey the power of imagination especially in children. It is noteworthy that this book and the subsequent others in the series was adapted into film, television series, plays and even games. Children in the early grades and even toddlers would appreciate this book as they would relate well to our little protagonist who likes to draw. The illustrations were very simple yet you will recognize it anywhere. Compared to other picture books, Harold and the Purple Crayon has faired really well because of it's simplicity and univeral appeal.
