The movie is about a girl named Coraline who just moved with her parents to a dilapidated mansion called the Pink Place. She then discovers a small door which leads to an alternate universe where everyone had doppelgangers and she had Other Parents. It was based on Neil Gaiman's novel of the same name. It conveys the loneliness of a child who has busy parents and how she tries to substitute them with the doppelgangers but then everything takes a horrific turn.The movie has garnered multiple awards in different categories. Children and adults alike, who are into horror and fantasy will surely appreciate this movie. The animation was carefully done and the clothes of the clay dolls were handstitched. It has certainly served as nightmare fuel for me, even as a full grown adult. Compared to other movies in the same genre, Coraline seems to have an edge in the fright factor.
