remarks ;
Jumanji is the name of a magical game board that makes animals and other jungle elements appear as the game is played. I believe that the book is written to tickle the imagination of children and convey a sense of adventure in a seemingly boring day. Allsberg's illustrattion is definitely worthy of taking note of, as they are very detailed and realistic. This book would most likely bee appreciated by children from thrid grade up to sixth as the text is moderate in length and the theme is adventure. Allsberg's work highly depends on his brilliant illustrating skills. I grew up to this story as a movie but it was only lately that I saw a the book and I was stunned with the illustrations. It boasts of Alsburg's signature style of illustration: detail and perspective.
