remarks ;
The comic strip is about mostly obese people in a Manila community. Concieved while working in Iraq, Medina, through the daily comic strips convey topics that are relevant to Filipinos such as politics and pop culture. The popularity of Pugad Baboy is noteworthy as it spawned live action adaptations, merchandise and compilations. The Filipino people in general would most appreciate this comic strip, especially those who live around the Metro. Medina has a way of illustrating that is uniquely his own. I have grown up to this series and it is already part of the Philippine pop culture. Compared to other comic strips, Medina's work is characterized by his use of British English words, vague ages of characters, and recurring jokes about Arabs having a foul smell.
